The Rose Park
The Rose Park is located in the historic center of the village and is characterized by a path that extends for about 300 meters, embellished with Oak trees and multicolored roses, planted over time.
Bossolasco's floral tradition came to life in the 1960s when a visionary town clerk had the idea to beautify streets and squares with the planting of roses. This initiative, along with the presence of numerous lavender plantations surrounding the village until that decade and the memory of the "lavender festival" celebrated in August, no longer in force, has established Bossolasco as a precious jewel of the Alta Langa.
The Rose Park is not only a place of beauty but also of deep history. Founded in 1926 as the "Park of Remembrance," it was dedicated to the young fallen in war, with the planting of 24 horse chestnuts. Over the years, the park has been the venue for various celebrations and commemorations. However, the commemorative plaques, once present, are no longer there. Today, the park hosts Oak trees and some roses planted in the past. An interesting detail: in 1926, the Mayor's appeal to fund the park managed to raise 255 lire, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity among citizens and attachment to the village.
Thanks to the complete absence of architectural barriers, the Rose Park is accessible and open to everyone.
Completely renovated, the Park will feature more than 200 roses of different varieties.
